General Operation

Harvey Premier is a cardiopulmonary patient simulator designed for medical education. It replicates a wide range of cardiac diseases using realistic physical findings such as pulses, precordial movements, and auscultation.
Only trained personnel or those under the direct supervision of Harvey-certified technicians should operate or service Harvey. Unauthorized repairs may void the warranty.
Press the power button located on the right thigh to turn it on. To shut down, press the same button twice. Always power off at the end of each training day.

Installation & Setup

Harvey requires a 2.5 ft x 6 ft table and an AC power outlet with a reliable protective earth (PE) connection. It supports 100–240VAC at 50/60Hz.
No. Harvey must not be used in wet conditions or stored below -15°C. It operates best between +10°C and +30°C.
Use the "Find Network" function on Harvey's control panel and connect via Wi-Fi or LAN. Then, scan and connect from the tablet using the serial number (e.g., HP-01005).

Simulation Features

Harvey simulates arterial/venous pulses, precordial impulses, heart and lung sounds, and blood pressure variations across more than 50 patient scenarios.
The tablet allows users to control volume, pulse amplitude, condition selection, and perform calibrations. It also includes a Demo Mode for practice without connection.
Use the settings screen on the tablet. For full control, including calibration, enter the password Harveytech.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Use the supplied alcohol prep pads or rubbing alcohol with a soft cloth. Avoid ink, colored gloves, or harsh chemicals. Always dry thoroughly.
Access the calibration screen and adjust the offset until the displayed value reads 0 mmHg with the cuff deflated. Use password harveytech if prompted.
Immediately disconnect power and contact the Gordon Center for support. Do not attempt repairs unless trained.

Shipping & Storage

Always use the provided Pelican case and ensure Harvey is secured flat and horizontal. Use safe lifting practices—Harvey weighs about 55 lbs (25 kg).
Check the shipping case for damage (cracks, broken clasps). If damage is found, document with photos and contact the Gordon Center or your distributor.

Audio and Video Systems

You can use an infrared headphone system or a classroom audio system connected via a ¼" mono plug to Harvey's audio output.
Yes. PTZ cameras can be mounted for video demonstration of pulses and movements. Avoid systems with high video lag.

Instructional Resources

Harvey includes learner manuals, instructor guides, nursing curricula, standardized patient cases, and access to the UMedic multimedia programs.
UMedic is a suite of web-based programs for learning cardiology, ECG, and auscultation. It includes video instruction, practice modules, and assessments. Learn more about UMedic.
